Tooth-Colored Fillings

Dental fillings are generally used to repair teeth that have experienced minor damage or decay. This type of procedure is most often used to repair the damage caused by cavities, which consist of small holes or voids in a person’s teeth. Cavities are extremely common, and most people will experience one or more in their lifetime. If cavities are left untreated, food particles and harmful bacteria can use these spaces to enter the inner areas of a tooth and cause further damage. That it is why it is very important to seal off these spaces with dental fillings as quickly as possible.

At Dental Implants Today, we are excited to offer our patients tooth-colored fillings that are designed to restore teeth with minor damage, while also looking natural. This type of filling consists of a combination of quartz and glass fillers that are housed inside a resin medium. These restorations are durable, highly resistant to fractures and able to fully withstand everyday tasks like chewing food. Unlike traditional silver fillings, tooth-colored fillings are not prone to leaking, and they provide a tight and secure fit that works to enhance the overall strength and stability of the tooth.

In addition to being used to repair minor damage, the resin utilized in tooth-colored fillings can also be used in a cosmetic treatment known as composite bonding. This treatment involves applying the substance directly to the teeth and letting it harden in multiple layers. By doing this, we are able to adjust the size and shape of teeth, reduce noticeable gaps, make color adjustments, protect tooth roots and more.

When applying a tooth-colored filling, we start by carefully removing any visible decay and existing filling material that is present in the tooth. Once the tooth is clean, the filling material is applied and exposed to light. This will allow the substance to harden, providing it with the strength and stability of a healthy tooth. Finally, our experts polish and shape the filling material to give it a natural appearance.

Sure wish I had found them earlier!! I had a periodontist that did gum surgery on me for 13,000.00; I had to wait for my gums to heal a few months and because that Periodontist would not work with my previous dentist I had to find a new dentist for the tooth part after the implant. I went in to interview Dr. Krause (dentist) & found the office and staff exceptional AND I got a quote for the implants at HALF the cost from his partner Dr. Taylor (periodontist)!! I can only imagine how much money I would have saved on the initial surgery, I feel violated by the first periodontist. I had the implants yesterday and painless with the exception of the numbing shots initially and no pain today. Affordable Quality Care!

"I've always gotten the best service from Dr Schweizer, everyone at the office is very knowledgeable and professional, all the staff is very friendly. Since moving down to Florida, Dr Schweizer has been the only dentist I've had, which has been about 30 years. I don't think I would feel comfortable seeing any one else."
